On April 13, 2012, the Florida State University College of Nursing hosted a Nursing Research Symposium. With a theme of "Sharing Scholarship in Nursing Practice" the symposium included a Keynote Address by Barbara MacArthur, RN, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.

Doctoral of Nursing Practice candidates and two practicing nurses at TMH also gave research presentations. The event was open to all nurses and student nurses and focused on the relationship between academic and applied nursing research.

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare recently made a change that will positively affect each and every person receiving inpatient care at our hospital. Beginning in December 2011, hundreds of brand-new, high- tech Stryker S3 beds replaced all of the adult medical-surgical beds in the main hospital and ten beds in the Behavioral Health Center.
